INVITATION FOR BIDS Sealed bids for construction of the following project(s) will be received by the Montana Department of Transportation, Construction Contracting Bureau, Room 101, 2701 Prospect, Helena, Montana until 9:00 a.m. on June 18, 2020. All bids being publicly opened, reviewed for correctness, and then publicly read in the Department's auditorium. 101 BBP - YELLOWSTONE RIVER NHIP-STPUIP-CMBL-NHPBIP 56(89) New construction of an arterial roadway and steel bridge structure to include grading, gravel, storm water collection, plant mix bituminous surfacing, concrete, a roundabout intersection, a pedestrian tunnel, structural steel, structural concrete, concrete bridge decking, lighting, signing, pavement markings, and other improvements for a segment of the Billings Bypass crossing the Yellowstone River and connecting to Five Mile Road. The project will include the development of a new 9-span 1,858' steel and concrete bridge structure across the Yellowstone River. The 0.8 mile project is located east/northeast of the Height's area of the city of Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana, within Section 12, T 1 North and R 26 East and Section 7, T 1 North and R 27 East. 102 HARDIN - SOUTH STPS 313-1(17)1 Grading, gravel surfacing, plant mix bituminous surfacing, irrigation and drainage improvements, fencing, revegetation, bridge replacement, signing and pavement markings on the Hardin-South project in Big Horn County. The project is located on State Secondary Route 313 beginning at RP 1.3 and extends to RP 7.8. The first 0.12 miles of the project are outside the boundary of the Crow Indian Reservation. The remainder of the project limits are within the boundaries of the Crow Indian Reservation beginning at RP 1.535 and extending to the project end at RP 7.8. MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE (TRIBAL) A pre-bid conference will be held at the following time and location: Thursday, June 4, 2020 10:00 AM MDT Billings District Office Conference Room 424 Morey St. Billings, MT 59101 The pre-bid conference will have a formal sign-in process that will become the official record of attendance for the purposes of determining eligible bidders. Attendance at this conference is mandatory for any Contractor to submit a bid as a prime bidder. Contractors who bid as a prime bidder on this project must have at least one full time, permanent employee present. No proxy representatives, such as subcontractors or consultants, meet this requirement. In the event a prime bidder tenders a bid but did not attend the pre-bid conference, the bid will be returned unopened. Representatives of the Department will be present to describe the project and answer questions. Representatives of the Crow Tribe will be invited to the pre-bid conference. The pre-bid conference is for information only. The Department is not bound by any statement or representation concerning conditions or description of the work given by Department employees or agents and the pre-bid conference. The answers to any questions raised are non-binding oral explanations or instructions, and relying on them is solely at the Bidder's risk. Any issues raised at the pre-bid conference must be posted on the Question and Answer Forum to be considered an enforceable provision of the contract to be let. The pre-bid attendee list and contract document clarifications or modifications considered necessary by the Department will be posted to the Question and Answer Forum. 103 BENTON AVE PATH - HELENA TA 5899(63) Grading, crushed aggregate course, asphalt surfacing, chain link fence, corrugated metal pipe, ADA accessible ramps, irrigation system modifications, signing, pavement markings, and revegetation on the Benton Ave Path - Helena project. The project is within the City of Helena along the east side of Benton Avenue in Lewis & Clark county. The project will connect to the existing Custer Avenue shared-use path to the north and extend south to the intersection of Benton Avenue and Oakwood Lane. 104 GATEWAY TO GLACIER FLA(16) Construction of a shared-use path, with signing and electrical components on the Gateway to Glacier project in Flathead County. The project is located east of Columbia Falls on US 2 (N-1) beginning at the east end of the Flathead River bridge (RP 137.4) and continuing east 0.9 miles ending at the intersection with S-206 (RP 138.3). 105 SF 159 SHOULDER RUMBLE STRIPS HSIP STWD(420) Rumble Strips & Striping on the SF 159 Shoulder Rumble Strips project located in three Locations. -Site 1 P-31(MT 24), North of Glasgow in Valley County starting at RP 8.5 extending north to RP 25.0. -Site 2 P-39 (MT 39), South of Colstrip in Rosebud County starting at RP 14.0 extending north to RP 22.0 -Site 3 N-99 (US 191), North of Malta in Philips County starting at RP 0.8 extending north to RP 8.0 Bid documents and instructions to bidders may be obtained from the Construction Contracting Bureau.
